Started in October 2021, Delta Counseling focuses on meeting our clients where they are on their mental health journey and providing personalized treatment to help navigate the path to wellness. Specializing in disordered eating, we work with our clients to transform their relationship with food, challenge maladaptive behaviors, and fight for body acceptance.
What’s in a name?
Our name has two meanings behind it!
First, our logo is in the shape of a triangle. In the Greek alphabet, Δ is the letter Delta. Taken one step further, mathematics uses Δ to represent change. We think change is important, too.
Second, even though the blue lines in the logo may look like the veins of a leaf or even a lightning strike, they’re actually waterways. More specifically, the image is inspired by a river delta.
In geography, a river delta is formed when a river gets bogged down by a bunch of dirt or silt that stops it from reaching the ocean. Undaunted, the river still wants to get to the ocean, though. The force of the water tries many different paths through its obstacles to get there. Some of these paths get stopped right away. Some of the paths make it for a while, but eventually run out of energy or encounter a new obstacle. As you may have guessed by now, some paths do carve their way to the ocean and the water can flow as it was meant to. Above all, perseverance paid off.
That whole collection of paths - dead-ends and clear routes - give the delta its shape.
We believe, whole-heartedly, that you are a Delta.
You are an agent of your own change.
You are the river trying to push through your personal obstacles to get to the ocean. This ocean is wellness.
There might be paths that lead to dead-ends, therapy methods that we try but don’t work, but WE WILL KEEP TRYING
