Welcome to Delta Counseling! I’m passionate about helping clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves, build healthier coping strategies, and move toward balance, wellness, and lasting change. I believe meaningful therapy happens in a collaborative, compassionate space where care is tailored to each individual.

I began my career in community mental health, where I worked with a wide range of mental health and substance use concerns. In 2012, I transitioned into private practice and later specialized in eating disorder treatment, including my work at the Eating Recovery Center of Ohio. Through these experiences, I saw both the complexity of eating disorders and the gaps in accessible, outpatient care—particularly care that integrates mental health and nutrition in a coordinated, supportive way.

I founded Delta Counseling in 2021 with the vision of creating a small, multi-specialty group private practice where clinicians can collaborate closely in the treatment of eating disorders and related mental health concerns. My goal was to build a practice that prioritizes thoughtful, evidence-based care while remaining accessible, human, and grounded in connection. I believe clients benefit most when providers work together, communicate openly, and honor the whole person—not just symptoms.

At Delta Counseling, I lead a close-knit team of clinicians who share these values and are deeply committed to collaboration, integrity, and individualized care. Together, we strive to meet clients where they are, support sustainable healing, and create a space where people feel understood, respected, and empowered.

I’m a Registered Dietitian with a background in behavioral health, supporting individuals navigating eating disorders, disordered eating, and other mental health–related concerns. My work is grounded in a weight-neutral, anti-diet approach guided by the Health at Every Size™ philosophy, intuitive eating, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction. I strive to help clients build a more sustainable, compassionate relationship with food and their bodies — one that actually fits their real lives.

In sessions, I support clients in breaking free from restrictive dieting patterns, reconnecting with internal cues, and rebuilding trust in their bodies at their own pace. I believe that all foods can fit, and I collaborate with clients to create flexible nutrition strategies that honor their unique goals, histories, and lived experiences (because no two humans — or nervous systems — are the same). My approach is individualized, curious, and focused on long-term well-being rather than rigid rules or quick fixes.

I’m also a yoga teacher trained in a recovery-focused studio and have completed Yoga for Eating Disorders mentoring training, which informs how I think about embodiment, movement, and care beyond the plate. Outside of work, I’m an avid reader who will happily read just about anything you hand me and I run an ED RD book club. You can also usually find me cooking, spending time with my pets (former vet tech, forever animal person), or enthusiastically dabbling in new hobbies like gardening and knitting — with varying levels of success.

I look forward to working with clients at Delta Counseling and supporting them on their journeys toward nourishment, recovery, and greater body respect.

Seeking a therapist is a big step, and I’m glad you’re here. I’m an Independently Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience treating eating disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns. Through several years of work in higher levels of care, I’ve developed specialized experience supporting adolescents, families, and adults.

My approach to therapy is client-centered, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and for individuals and families needing more intensive eating disorder support, I offer Family-Based Therapy (FBT). My goal is to meet you where you are while helping you move toward meaningful, values-driven change.

In our work together, you’ll notice that I hold several core beliefs that guide my practice: therapy is for everyone; food is both fuel and enjoyment; perfectionism often gets in the way of connection; flexibility and vulnerability foster growth; movement is meant to be self-care, not punishment; and body size does not define health. I also deeply value family—however you define it—as a foundation for healing, and I believe our priorities naturally evolve across different life stages.

I hope that in our time together you feel safe, supported, and empowered as you move along your recovery journey. Change and growth can be challenging, but they are deeply worthwhile. I’m honored to walk alongside you in this process.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of supporting adolescents, adults, and families as they navigate a wide range of mental health challenges. My approach to therapy is compassionate, client-centered, and trauma-informed. I integrate developmental, psychosocial, medical, and family perspectives to create individualized treatment plans that support lasting growth and resilience. I work collaboratively with clients to set meaningful goals, build coping strategies, and strengthen insight and emotional regulation skills.

I draw from evidence-based practices including Family-Based Treatment (FBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Reaching out for support takes courage, and I strive to offer a safe, collaborative space where you can reconnect with yourself and move toward the life you want. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or seeking greater clarity, therapy can be a place to explore what’s bringing you in and what you hope to better understand or change.

I’m a Licensed Social Worker and Licensed Professional Music Therapist with clinical experience since 2009 in both medical and mental health settings. I began my career as a music therapist in a pediatric hospital, supporting children with cancer and their families. Over the past decade, I’ve worked primarily with adolescents and adults experiencing eating disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns, providing care through both talk therapy and music therapy within specialized treatment programs offering higher levels of care.

I’m deeply passionate about supporting individuals in recovery, as well as caregivers navigating parallel journeys alongside loved ones. My work honors each person’s identity, values, and autonomy while actively challenging patriarchal, discriminatory, and diet-culture systems that contribute to harm.

My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and evidence-based. I draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help clients build insight, develop skills, and navigate overwhelming emotions. I also value experiential approaches, including music therapy and nature-based sessions when appropriate, always grounding our work in your strengths, interests, and goals.

Operations & Administrative Support

tim@delta-counseling.com

While I’m not a clinician, I play an important behind-the-scenes role at Delta Counseling. I support the practice by managing day-to-day operations, including bookkeeping, IT coordination, and administrative support. If you call or reach out to the office, there’s a good chance I’ll be the one who answers and helps connect you to the right place.

Outside of my work with Delta Counseling, I’m an accountant with experience across a wide range of industries, including higher education and emergency monitoring services. I currently serve as the CFO for Terrex Development and Construction. My background allows me to support Delta Counseling with both practical organization and a strong appreciation for the importance of accessible, high-quality mental health care.

Rachel and I live in Liberty Township with our two sons, our dog Placebo (Bo), and our cat Niles.
